Library Guidelines

COMMUNICATION

Students will receive a library notice for overdue books every time their class comes to the library.  While there is no fine for overdue books, materials overdue by 30 days or more are assumed to be lost and a replacement fee will be assessed.  If you feel our records are in error kindly email me at:  pattyauthement@tpsd.org.

LOST A BOOK

If a book is lost or damaged it must be paid for.  Payment may be in the form of a check made out to Oakshire Elementary School, or with exact cash (change cannot be made and will not be given).  Students who owe money to the library will not be allowed to check out books.  Once the account is cleared, the student will be able to resume checking out books.

CLASS VISITS

Students visit the library once a week with their class.  Some of the activities they may enjoy include:  listening to a story, practicing library skills, and checking out books.  In addition, students may visit the library every other week during homeroom to return books, check out books, or take AR quizzes.

HOW MANY BOOKS?  FOR HOW LONG?

Students may borrow one book in grades K-1 and two books in grades 2-6. Library books are due back in two weeks, or may be renewed if there are no hold requests for their book.
